Experience the rich aroma and bold flavor of Palestinian cardamom coffee, a traditional beverage served as a symbol of hospitality. Store any leftover coffee in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently before serving.
In a medium saucepan, combine 4 cups of water and bring it to a gentle boil over medium heat.
Once the water is boiling, add 4 tablespoons of finely ground Arabic coffee. Stir well to combine.
Allow the mixture to boil for about 2-3 minutes, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer gently for another 5 minutes. This helps extract the flavors from the coffee grounds.
Add 1 teaspoon of ground cardamom to the pot and stir. If you prefer your coffee sweetened, add 2 tablespoons of sugar at this point.
Let the coffee simmer for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the cardamom to infuse its aromatic flavor.
Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit for a minute to allow the grounds to settle at the bottom.
Carefully pour the coffee into small cups, leaving the grounds behind in the pot. Traditionally, this coffee is served without milk or cream.
